Tire l'Esprit Du Cachot
In the summer of 2006, I travelled to Montréal with a camera and produced a series of street portraits of various individuals. Each photograph was taken candidly, without preparation or staging.
The title "Tire l'esprit du cachot," or "pull the mind from the prison cell," was taken from "The Internationale" written by Eugene Pottier. Each photo is an interpretation on this line, exploring the relationship of space and the individual.
